The morning session turned out to be a vital and truly insightful round table discussion with Francisco Javier Ramos Fernandez, Tobias Bosse, Markus Zwerger, Sebastian Rzejak and Dr. Joerg Sigmund. We addressed a full bunch of interwoven topics like European harmonization of technical specifications (CEN standards, EOTA European Assessments), the complexity of the implementation of the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR) for ETICS, requirements related to sustainability and circularity deriving from different pieces of legislation and, in general, the political decision-making process in the European Union and in member states.
After lunch Theresia Holder, Thomas Küchler, Thomas Fluck, Martin Hitzler and Joerg Sigmund invited Ralf Pasker to the Sto labs with a huge variety of test equipment to support both product innovation and ensuring constancy in product performance during serial production. It became obvious that ETICS manufacturers undertake huge efforts to test and to surveil ETICS in their entirety as a kit as already minor variations in the properties of kit components impact the performance of the kit (and thus its compliance with building codes).
The round tour closed in the Sto Infofabrik, where the unbeatable variety of technical solutions and design options that ETICS offer is experienceable.
Key takeaways:
- ETICS manufactures are committed to contribute to the Green Deal.
- Energy-efficient building envelopes are key enablers for the decarbonisation of the building stock.
- ETICS manufacturers require reliable and predictable framework conditions.
- Respecting system loyalty is essential for safeguarding the superb durability, the safety and the sustainability of ETICS.
- The bureaucratic burden for industry needs to be lowered.
Many thanks for the great and open exchanges and the amazing hospitality!
