On 28th June we “celebrated” a successful premiere in Munich/Germany, welcoming participants from eight member states to the first EAE open workshop to Munich!

As discussed and decided by both our Marketing Committee and our Technical Committee earlier, there should be a new format of EAE events in between our well-established European ETICS Forums. The idea of such EAE workshops is, to focus on single topics, but to discuss them in depth, allowing questions and answers.

The workshop was organized in close collaboration with FIW Munich, focusing on European harmonized technical specification. EAE Managing Director Ralf Pasker started explaining the “big picture” – the principles of the Single Market and the Construction Products Regulation. After that HAS consultant Vaclav Hadrava (Czech Republic) provided some insights how the team of HAS consultants assesses CEN standards in order to prevent legal conflicts with the CPR.

Probably the most challenging part was left to WG18 convenor Dr. Thomas Lohmann (Germany). He explained in details how the draft standard prEN 17234 has been amended since the enquiry considering the advice of the pre-assessment by HAS consultants. He pointed out that the technical content remained the same, and described why and how the former worst-case-rules changed to EXAP rules.
